This title uses virtual voice narration

Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.

The dragons are gone, leaving behind their essence for those who follow.

Firewater is sacred. Touched by the power of the dragons, those who consume it can become more like those ancient beings. Most become dragon forged, their bodies strengthened to help fight the dangerous creatures attacking the valley.

But firewater didn’t change Rob.

When invaders threaten to destroy his people, what Rob discovers may save all he cares about—and provide the key to forging his own power.

Dragon Forged is book 1 in an exciting new progression fantasy series!

Narrator is a virtual voice and it shows. Only slight inflection if any, no distinction between characters, pause after every sentence. Glad it was free with subscription, because I would not have purchased this audible version.

Very boring narrator. Monotone

Reminds me of Cradle: boy without power, isolated Valley... But all in all nice story.

I actually enjoyed the story though I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was narrated by an actual person. The virtual narrator was so flat and emotionless. Didn’t emphasize at the right times or differentiate between characters which made it seem poorly written though I’m sure it really was just the AI. Want to read the next book but not sure I will if not done with a real narrator.

Virtual narrator was terrible, flat and emotionless.

The AI narration is not good. Lack of inflection, lack of emotion, or excitement. I think the book could draw you in if it did not have the AI narrative.

Would probably be a good book.
