Del and his dragon riders must stop the Qapira to save their people…

The disastrous battle Del led has forced the Qapira to create a new magic stone, but at a deadly cost. With time running out, the only chance for Del and his dragon riders to save their home is to head the Qapira off before they can retrieve the raw materials needed. But he’ll have to do it without help. With Etenia focused on protecting SeaFall, Del alone will have to explore every possibility to save the human world from certain doom.

But the Qapira are relentless in their pursuit of survival, and stopping them for good will surely bring about even more destruction. Is violence the only answer to violence, and is Del ready to pay that price? Or can a street rat who’s risen to be a protector of his people find a different way to save everything he holds dear?

This is the twenty-second book from 11 series that I have read/listened to by Ava Rochardson and I would most definitely listen to any book she writes.
Until this book, they have involved humans and dragons and most have taken place either directly with the Torvald dragons or on the periphery and spanning many different generations. This gave that world a richness due to the stories from so many different perspectives.
For this book, I really enjoyed how it involves another race of peoples- those living under the water. Despite not listening to the first two books in this series, I was able to gain an understanding quite quickly of what was happening. Although I do not know the backstory, this one hinted on the reasons why the events in this book were taking place. Having had a taste of this world, I now hunger for the rest.
The characters are individually defined with their own personalities and motivations. I became invested in the story quite quickly, and it held my attention throughout. She does not use flowery language to describe the world or its peoples. And I enjoy that. It makes me fee as if I an watching events unfold in my head.
This is the first book I have listened to by this narrator ( Jeanie Talbot ) and I would definitely listen to another. She gives each character a distinct voice and expression and even uses accents. When she narrates you are listening to someone “tell the story” not “read a book”. The story comes to life.
There are no sex scenes or overly descriptive violence. I don’t recall any swearing. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this unbiased review.

As the threat now escalates into war Del and Etenia (and the whole dragon school plus everyone who believes of the threat) are scrambling to find a way to end it before all of humanity is annihilated. A must read and/or listen.

The only thing I dislike is not having heard Books 1 & 2! Not that I needed to hear them as this is a stand-alone, but this book and narration is so good that I'd love to have the whole set! I'm not going to risk giving you hints on the book for fear of giving it all away! But the authors own introduction can do that for you. You will never regret getting this book!! Enjoy!

Awesome and Captivating!!

I really enjoyed this story as Del continues to grow into such an admirable person who doesn’t see the hero everyone else does. From his low beginnings, he has risen to each challenge and holds his people together. Even the dragons starting from dragon eggs have grown into loyal, dependable friends to their riders.

As the Qapira are trying to create a new magic stone, Del and the dragon riders must stop them before the Qapira get what they need to complete this task. But he will be on his own in figuring out how to succeed and save the human world. Can he find the answer within himself? Or will he be too late?

The narrator for the audiobook version, Jeanie Talbot, will bring the “reading” experience alive for the listener. She does a good job with the voices to personalize the story and make it easy for the listener to get an accurate impression of what each character is like. It helps to set the mood, familiarize the reader with the characters, and offers a pleasant way to “read” and enjoy the book.

Awesome Story . . .
