But the brutal rulers of the Heptarchy will not allow Ridmark to escape their grasp.

Autonomous Agency vs Psychological Determinism

These stories concretize the conflict between reason and freedom on the one hand, with unreason and subjugation on the other. The Warden doesn’t like reality, so he wants to remake it according his whim, consequences be damned. The Shield Knight and other heroes see further and more clearly than the myopic villains, illustrating the fact that evil is impotent and has nothing to offer the good. Romantic pulp fantasy at its finest.

I cannot wait for the next installment. One of my favorite series to date.

as much as I love this series I would caution children listening to it due to multiple accounts of intercourse. that aside I am looking forward to the conclusion of this tale.

it is not the end, there will be another!!!! but I love the twist and turns it takes!
