The battle in the heavens has left a target on Lindon’s back.

His most reliable ally is gone, the Monarchs see him as a threat, and he has inherited one of the most valuable facilities in the world. At any moment, his enemies could band together to kill him.

If it weren’t for the Dreadgods.

All four are empowered and unleashed, rampaging through Cradle, and grudges old and new must be set aside. The Monarchs need every capable fighter to help them defend their territory.

And Lindon needs time.

While he fights, he sends his friends off to train. They’ll need to advance impossibly fast if they want to join him in battle against the kings and queens of Cradle.

Together, they will need power enough to rival a Dreadgod.

Beginning Report:
When i stumbled upon Unsouled in the audible plus catalog I had only known cultivation stories from Mangas like Demons and Gods and similar titles. The Cradle series completely blew away my expectations however. Unsouled intrigued me, the main character was likable enough, i simple river spirit trapped in a treasure hall of a nefarious sect of martial artists, until one day she’s liberated by a disenfranchised thief, and a powerful swordswoman who’s blade is as sharp as her witty quips. The three travel together through all 11 books seeking adventure and grinding levels like WoW players with the help of many lovable people and a majestic turtle. If you’re looking for a story with touching moments, fights that would make Goku from Dragon Ball drool, absolutely fabulous hair, and all narrated by the prestigious Travis Baldree then look no further then the Cradle series.
Seriously though I rarely reread (or relisten?) to most books, I’ve listened to the cradle series at least 6 times now and after i read the travelers gate series (also by Will Wight and now narrated by Travis Baldree) i’ll probably listen to it another 6 times. The only downside about this series is now i have to wait for the last book of the series to come out.

The journey of lindon is great here, but the book would have been better if we had more focus on some of the other key characters in there moments. To try to avoid spoilers here, the have some very important moments that we as a reader gets to experience up until and after it’s done. So we get the journey to their epic fight and then the aftermath. It doesn’t make sense me that will would simply jump over the part we would be most invested in

Great book again, but to short and narrow in its focus
