DreamLand was supposed to be paradise—an engineered fantasy world where anything was possible. A place to step into adventure, live a story, and become a legend. For Samuel Jack, it was a chance to finally become the gunslinger he'd always dreamed of being.

Then the gates locked. The screams started. And fantasy died.

From somewhere deep within the amusement park, its creator—Rutherford Dwight Soros—pulls the strings. Every realm, every system, every mechanical heartbeat moves to the rhythm of his will. The Lifebots—indistinguishable from flesh and blood except for their black, soulless eyes—carry out his commands, while cybernetic hybrids claw for power and the promise of eternal life.

Sam came for wonder. Now he kills to survive. The Colt on his hip isn't a game anymore. Friends vanish. Lies multiply. And the truth about DreamLand grows darker with every step.

In a world engineered by a madman—one forging heroes and villains to populate his fantasies—survival comes down to a single choice: bend to his design… or fight for your soul.

A dark dystopian sci-fi western with Weird West elements, drawing inspiration from Westworld, The Dark Tower, and Red Dead Redemption.

I really liked this book by the end of it. It starts a little slow, like most books do. By the mid point you will be hooked. The characters are well thought out. I can’t wait for book 2, the ending of book 1 is a good cliffhanger. Long live the gunslingers, Long live Sam.

Well written and well read. If you want a novel that excites end of the world thinking coupled with Ai driven moral dilemmas that won’t disappoint this is where the bus stops. The author does a phenomenal job of drawing you into a Dreamland that has twists and turns leaving you to consider whether this could possibly be a part of our own future.

Dreamland: The Fellowship of the Gunslinger by Phil Crosby is a unique blend of fantasy, science fiction, and reality that builds a world unlike any other.

The story follows Samuel Jack, an ordinary man who achieves his dreams—only to grow disillusioned with the very world he once longed for. His reality is shaped by a twisted, godlike creator, serving as a reminder to be careful what you wish for.

Dreamland itself walks a fine line between imagination and nightmare, drawing inspiration from comic books, movies, TV shows, and the endless possibilities of daydreams. Yet, this new existence is far from a dream come true, placing Samuel in a world few would ever want to experience.
In the audiobook version, Crosby’s introduction to Dreamland is brought vividly to life, immersing listeners in a rich and unsettling fantasy world designed for a chosen few.
