For fans of Women in Clothes, a philosophical guide to fashion

We all get dressed. But how often do we pause to think about the place of clothes in our world? What unconscious thoughts do we express when we dress every day? Can a philosophy of living be wrapped up in a winter coat? Can we see a handbag not just as an object, but as an idea?

Dressed is the thinking person’s book about clothes. Ranging freely from suits to shoes, from Marx’s coat to Madame X’s gown, philosopher Shahidha Bari unveils the hidden power of what we wear, addressing the deepest questions of who we are and how we choose to face the world.

This book is little more than anti-male revisionism. More time is spent on decrying the evils of any one with a penis( especially a non-gay penis), than it does speaking on fashion in sense. History? Only seen through the erroneous lens of men made me wear heels so I couldn't run away. Style? Men said I can't wear pants. Designer? Men stole all designs from women underlings. This goes on ad nausem. A pathetic book for resentful and ignorant people.

This isn't about fashion.

Couldn’t even get through the intro, way too long. Keep skipping further and further and it’s weird metaphors. Baffled. Don’t waste a credit
