Dynamic Reteaming shares real stories of how successful software companies have thrived through changing their teams as opposed to keeping them the same. Team change will happen whether we like it or not. People will come and go from our teams. Our companies might double in size or even get acquired. We can catalyze team change to reduce the risk of attrition, learning and career stagnation, and the development of knowledge silos. Dynamic Reteaming describes practices for effective reteaming as well as anti-patterns.

In this book, you'll learn how to integrate new people into an existing team, deal with the loss of team members, split a team when needed, isolate teams for focused innovation, rotate team members for knowledge sharing, break through organizational stagnation, and much more. Learn to apply the five team change patterns: isolation, one by one, grow and split, merging, and switching. Get practical tips and tricks for managing team change.

This book is a must read for anyone working to create a modern organization. Dynamic reteaming is here to stay, and this is by far the most structured, informative and inspirational text written on the topic. I love that it is filled with great examples of how others are implementing reteaming, and some real world examples of how things can go wrong. The book has inspired me to a number of experiments with my own team, and added structure to ideas I have been pondering for a while.

The "right" organizational and team model is not something that can be copied. Each organization and team must adapt to its purpose, strategy, culture, and networks of people. At the heart of effective organizations are dynamic and adaptive teams. If you want to know how to cultivate more adaptive organizations and teams for competitive advantage, read this book.
