The final battle for humanity is about to begin...

On the moon, Ronin Hayashi trains to protect the colonies from the inevitable invasion of the machines. While he prepares to stand his ground, Sergeant Tadhg Walsh is planning an escape mission to deliver a weapon to the resistance on Earth.

At Neptune Station, Captain Akira Hayashi and Shadow Squad have returned from a deadly journey into enemy territory, where they learn the machines are building an army at an astonishing rate. After continued attempts to contact the Lunar Defense Corps for help, Shadow Squad accepts the hard truth—the LDC isn’t coming.

With hope for salvation dwindling, Akira deploys on a desperate mission to find Apeiron, believing only she can stop Doctor Otto Cross from completing his reset of Earth. But Akira soon realizes they need more than just Apeiron. Shadow Squad must somehow reunite with Tadhg and the weapon he carries. Only then can Akira lead the charge against the machines in one last fight for the future of humanity.

Enjoyed the first 2. This one was difficult to get into fully and seemed To be bit more disjointed. Worth it if you have a free credit.

This one was a little hard to follow.

Knowing that this was the last book in the series (I think), I knew this had to wrap things up. I honestly thought that it couldn’t possibly do the story justice in just ~13 hours. Boy was I wrong.

The pacing of this book, and how it transitions from character to character is really well done. Most characters get their time in the spotlight and I was left feeling really satisfied.

There is a bit of a deus ex machina that was only slightly disappointing. However, it gave the characters more time to have their moment.

I found that I didn’t want the book to be over. I purposely dragged it out over weeks. I love this story and the universe NSS has created. I so desperately want to see more.

There’s more to be said but… spoilers…

Lastly, to the incredible RC Bray: there aren’t words in the English language to express how wonderful the life you give these characters is. Of course the source material is wonderful, but you bring it to life! <chef kiss>

So much story packed in from start to finish

Amazing story. Could not stop listening. From book one to book 3 the story is one that I would love to see in a movie if it is well done.

Love RC Bray as the narrator. The story was pretty predictable but still engaging. The use of military ranks and structure was weak.

Straight up fight from beginning to end

Man I'm not like a lot of critics. I know that there are some bad books out there but I always appreciate the fact that someone took the time to write it. FORTUNATELY for me, THIS SERIES is awesome, TOTALLY AWESOME!!!
