Murder is on the to-do list when construction contractor Shannon Hammer looks for a killer in the fifth Fixer-Upper Mystery....

At the annual Victorian Home and Garden Tour, Lighthouse Cove, California's premier contractor, Shannon Hammer, realizes that the competition is about to turn deadly....

Shannon is in high demand among rival homeowners who will do anything to win Best in Show. One-upmanship and even espionage break out among neighbors, construction crews, decorators, and landscapers. Thanks to several new hires, Shannon is sure she can handle the extra load - until murder throws a wrench in the works.

The small town's corrupt building inspector is found dead on one of Shannon's jobsites, and soon plenty of suspects are coming out of the woodwork. When another body is discovered, Shannon calls on her team of close friends and devilishly astute thriller writer Mac to help her nail down the details and build a case against the killer before the door shuts on someone else - for good.

I have listened to this whole series & the last book was a dud. I had hoped it was a fluke, and it seems it was, because this book was back to its usual greatness! The narration was great, the story was compelling with twists & turns. An enjoyable cozy listen

Better than the last book!

I have every book in this series. The characters are believable and the narrator is pleasant to listen to. I am going to go back to the first book and work my way through again. It is worth listening to them all again.

Enticing to the end

the narrator does an awesome job with this book, in fact so awesome that my cat enjoyed listening to this with me at night... Seems he likes the voice of the narrator Angela starling. hard to write a review without giving away the best parts of this book. however, if you love books for you cannot figure out the ending until you are at the ending then this is a must read or listen to. I've read other books in a different series by this author and this series I have listened to exclusively on audio books so far. Carlisle is able to create a setting in her books based on fact which obviously comes from doing ones homework. Carlisle's way of writing will have you seeing the settings which for me helps put me into the story in a way that makes it more real. listen to this book to find out who wins the Victorian House contest and find out how they get to the end for that winner to be announced

a shocking ending and a marvelous book

I love that you do not find out who did it until the end. And it is a person narrator.

Easy to follow
