Rudolf Steiner explores the astonishing, special relationship and deep spiritual connection between our own time and that of ancient Egypt. He tells us why it is important to study Eygpt, with its vast wisdom and knowledge of cosmic laws and myths.

Egyptian Myths and Mysteries are a series of 12 lectures in which he goes into the experiences of the Egyptian initiations, facts of occult anatomy and physiology, and the stages of evolution of the human form, concluding with a lecture on Christ as the conqueror of matter.

liked the ongoing scienentific discussion and rhetoric. It was very good after all with absolute concern.

EXVELLENT REVIEW

I am a little surprised by the strength of my response to listening to this book and the immediacy of my desire to write and post a review to promote it, My reviews are usually short and to the point, not effusive. But, here, I not only recommend it, but do so highly! This book provides an extended and plausible picture of mystical religious beliefs that includes the Ancient Egyptians, the Ancient Greeks and Romans--especially focusing on Plato and Socrates--and primitive Christianity. The lectures are loaded with connections between the various religions and provides plausible explanations of puzzling beliefs from these religious traditions. Steiner's connections between the beliefs of the traditions discussed particularly interests me.

The reading performance by Clay Lomakayu is, once again, excellent. For me, he is just right for the Steiner books. His voice is pleasant and soothing and he always sounds engaged with the material he is reading. These qualities makes listening to the book a pleasure. He never sounds robotic.

There are many positive approaches for why to listen to this book, such as that you are interested in mythological and folk beliefs, new age or alternative religions, interested in Theosophy or Anthroposophy, interested in the belief system that influenced the writer Owen Barfield--the friend of C.S. Lewis, Or, you just want to be exposed to an alternative picture of the world from 1905. You can be exposed to all of these by listening to this book.

More than anything it is good for pleasure reading/listening. I expect this to be one of those books I listen to repeatedly. I like and highly recommend this recording of this book.

I highly recommend this book!
