La narración hecha por la autora es emocionante y revela de viva voz la historia de los Marielitos, pero en carne propia. Muy recomendableWhat did you like best about this story?

The author being also the narrator gave the story the emotion and feeling that many Cubans, including my family, felt as they left a country uncertain of ever seeing it again. I only wish this book would have also been done as an audio book in English, I know many people who would want to hear the plight of the Cuban people. Listening to stories such as this one really brings their suffering and desire for freedom to light, especially with the current events happening on the island nation where freedom is still not at the reach of its people. Thank you Mirta Ojito for sharing your family’s experience in such a raw and authentic manner. Great listen!
