When his path crosses with Elaine’s, he notices the bond she immediately forms with his daughter. With a push from those around him, he reluctantly pursues a relationship with her. As they work to overcome their limitations and past hurts, the two face a crisis that will either make or break their relationship and any possibility of romance and love.

I enjoyed listening to this audio edition of the book. The narrator's voice was soft and easy to listen, and I was able to visualize the events. Although her parents were overprotective of her, once they moved and Elaine was on her own, her health improved immensely.
This was a story of overcoming what others considered impossible.
