I love how Linda manages to turn small, everyday stories into something deeply relatable, in this case, to be listened to rather than read. I connected with Elena’s story even though I’m not in my 40s yet. I’ve always felt a bit disconnected from the world around me, so I could empathize with her in many ways. That made this story especially heart-touching for me like sunshine filtering through the clouds. Her relationship with her daughter is complex, marked by scars from a difficult past, sometimes painful but slowly healing, just as Elena does.
