A richer and more developed sequel

I had listened to the first part, Elijah’s Awakening, so I wanted to continue Elijah’s story after the amazing cliffhanger at the end of the first book. This time, I felt that the author fully used major events from our own history to their advantage, leveraging Eli’s story and giving much more richness to a fantastical tale with strong resemblance to real history, set before World War I and at the gates of World War II.

Regarding the characters, this being a second novel is a big plus. The characters are much more developed, especially Michelle, who I felt was a bit underused in the first part. Eli remains the main character, but the protagonism is now more evenly shared between them, which adds richness and diversity to the story. If you loved the first part like I did, this one will surprise you even mor, in the best way.

Full of Action - Kept Me on the Edge of My Seat

This audio is full of action, as there were times I was listening to it in the car and didn't want to get out because it was so interesting. The book's premise is that Elijah is searching for Michelle, who vanished years ago. He learns of new information from the Vatican's archives but must make decisions that could affect his own life. The audio also showcases Michelle in a dark world, looking to find her way home.

An exciting follow-up and a delightful listen!

Even after the thrill of book 1, the stakes were raised all around for the CotW world in this second installment.
I especially loved Michelle’s arc and am looking forward to finding out how her courage and compassion continue to make her a force to be reckoned with.
This one is a fun listen too, with some great (and one or two hilarious) voices done the narrator.
Excited to listen more!
