Ruby Morgan was about to finish her final class in her master’s program at the University of Providence, and she and her friend Brooke were planning the summer of their lives before completing their theses in the fall. Then on the eve of her last final exam, her mother dropped a bombshell on her.
She was being sent to Martha’s Vineyard to clean out her estranged, late grandmother’s bookstore. Her dream summer was gone with the wave of her mother’s powerful hand.
Little did Ruby know that an entire new life was waiting for her on the island. The bookstore soon became a passion that she embraced whole heartedly, but it didn’t take long for her to see that the shop was hiding many secrets.
What caused her mother and grandmother to part ways so many years ago? Did it have something to do with her parents’ separation and divorce at almost the same time? Did her grandmother’s young friend, Lucy, who had secrets of her own, have answers to Ruby’s questions?
