Emily, the Beekeeper's Daughter, is a romance novella set in the medieval-like fantasy kingdom of Penruddock.
Sir Robin, a common-born knight, comes to Borrowdale Valley in service to the widowed earl of Borrow. The earl's youngest daughter, Lady Grace, who will come of age in a few months, is immediately taken with Robin and sets her cap for him. She decides she wants to persuade her father to arrange a marriage between her and Sir Robin. The other young knight at Borrowdale, Sir Andrew, is also a common-born knight. He was wooing Lady Grace before Robin arrived, but her interest in Robin quickly pushed Andrew out of her mind. Robin, however, is taken with Emily, the beekeeper's daughter. Out of loyalty to the family, Emily holds back her own attraction to Robin, leaving him to think that she has no interest in him. Will love win in the end? And if so, for whom?

The story moves at a pace that keeps one’s interest without extraneous “filler.”
There are dilemmas to add interest and there’s a shocking twist: the characters, while realistic & facing challenges, have good ‘character’, which helps produce unusual resolutions! This indeed sets it apart from many of today’s stories—both true & fictional.
Warning: at the end you may find yourself wishing to live in such a place! If you like fictional stories that raise your stress & blood pressure even higher than real life does, don’t read this book…but don’t criticize people who do choose to read it🤨
Note: the AI narration for this book is actually quite good 👍
