Disney’s Encanto is the tale of an extraordinary family that lives hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto. Everyone in the Madrigal family has a unique gift, ranging from superstrength to the power to heal. Everyone except Mirabel.

But when the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides she might just be her exceptional family’s last hope. Encanto: The Junior Novelization retells the vibrant story!

Wonderful story! I’ve seen the movie version. The audiobook is a little long for children’s attention span.

Energetic and colorful

I'm a long time fan of Encanto, and I've never read the book, and couldn't find any place near me to get it. I saw this and immediately bought it, and I was not disappointed! Starting out, I could already tell the narrator was a professional. She voiced everything with life and really helped me picture it in my mind, especially the fight with Abuela Alma. The story and characters are absolutely wonderful, I feel so much for Mirabel. She's by far my favorite character. The generational trauma, the character development, the climax. God, that scene where casita fell was so impactful. If I could give this six instead of five stars, I would. This is a beautiful story about familial love. I felt so bad for Mirabel, everybody was cruel to her except a few here and there. I am glad she got the ending she deserved. The characters are all interesting with what little screen time they have, and Alma's flashback was beautiful. It ends with there not being any villain, no death (unless you count Pedro's), and full of forgiveness and love. Amazingly done.

Amazing in every aspect.

Book mirrors the movie well. As the narrator (Mirabel's voice) read, I could see the characters and parts of the movie playing in my mind. Fun read. Would recommend.

Just as expected
