I have now lived in New Mexico almost seventeen years, and after traveling over most all of the United States and into many foreign countries, I have never experienced a place like New Mexico. It truly lives up to its ‘label’ as being the “LAND OF ENCHANTMENT.” I have been an avid backpacker and hiker throughout my adult life, and after visiting and hiking in every corner of New Mexico, it is my desire that the photographs I have included in this book will show the observer what beauty, magic, splendor, and ‘spirit’ lies within our borders. I am a true nature lover, and I often venture into wilderness areas where other people seldom go, and in doing so, I find that to be where our Sacred Earth Mother and her inhabitants graciously show themselves to me. I can readily understand why the original inhabitants of ‘Turtle Island,’ the Indigenous, were so a part of the land, and also how they considered all other living things in nature as being a part of their family, their ‘relations,’ and I feel the same way whenever I am in nature, and especially here in New Mexico, because there truly is a powerful Spiritual energy that exists in New Mexico, the true ‘Land of Enchantment,’ and as you study my photographs in this book, I believe you will see what I mean. I hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I did while taking them. Art Library & Museum Studies Social Sciences Hiking
