I think this series is top notch and reader Gildart Jackson is one of the best. However, this book frustrated me when characters went in directions that weren’t logical to me. I found myself repeating “Really??” But Mr Gallagher IS the successful author, so who am I to criticize? I still look forward to the next book.

Why 4 stars for story

Although this is the final in the series, I felt it could have been concluded by the end of Book 3. The antagonist became overdrawn to the point of annoying, rather than terrifying, and George's story became unbelievable. Also, I'm not entirely innocent of foul language usage myself, but the language used in the dialogue was overly profane. I couldn't listen to this anywhere that someone might overhear.

A bit contrived

We can all be driven to murder. Honestly, I don't get that George doesn't ask for help. He turns into an ass and well, I now find the series frustrating. Maybe it's excellent writing, but I find myself tired. Tired of the hostage situation to have innocents used in rather unbelievable situations and killed to this degree. It's too much. I'm tired of the scenarios

I guess the moral of the story is.

At some point before the end, the tide has to turn in favour of the good guys. That never happened in these first 4 books
