US Army Private Jon Bishop is working a remote security checkpoint in Iraq. His life quickly changes when the outpost is attacked by insurgents. Forced to take the protection of a local family, he is unwittingly pulled into dealing with a mystical family who has baggage thousands of years old. Jon finds he is bound to this family and must work behind enemy lines to defeat an enemy that wants to destroy this family and attack the US and its allies. Along the way, he learns about the burning of Baghdad during Shock and Awe, the palaces of Saddam Hussein, and the secret tunnels of Bagdad that used to run underneath the city. Most of all Jon learns that the people of Iraq have a rich cultural history that dates back long before the struggles of today.

Enemy Combatant is a nonpolitical, fast-paced story with surprises at every turn.
