Padraig Murphy is used to taking what he wants, when he wants but his time is running out. Unless he finds a suitable mate, his life force will burn out. Convinced by his friend to seek the services of Eternal Mates he goes through a handful of women who can’t keep up with his otherworldly prowess until he discovers Emmy.
But has this incubus met his match in his literal dream woman? And will Emmy be up for the challenge?
I hate women like Emmy

This story went into a lot of depth in developing the FMC who was not always likeable but was pretty realistic. The MMC was likeable but did some things that were morally gray if you’re stretching it but really just bad.
Writing is solid, like an adult with an actual vocabulary. Funny and contemporary. Spicy scenes very well done with a touch of magical realism.
Swift and deft handling of how women outside of the accepted beauty standard are treated/affected, ie size, hair, color. I liked the way characters supported one another, messed up, took responsibility and held the FMC accountable.
The Ai voice was actually pretty good! Still flat or lack of inflection was especially noticeable in erotic scenes.
Confusing that male and female voices were all read the same. The Ai made bizarre mistakes like repeatedly using the wrong gender pronouns and pronouncing laughter “laffer.” These things take me out of the story.
Overall I would much prefer a person because I cannot forget that it’s NOT a person due to the weird stuff. But it was a good story which packed a whole lot of character development, spice and HEA into a short book.
Better Story & Narration Than Expected
