Welcome back to Evergreen Academy, the secret college for Magical Botanists.

Ever since enrolling at Evergreen Academy last year, I have struggled to belong in the elite world of plant magic and affinity powers. And thanks to a curse tied to a decision I made on the spring equinox, I'm further from fitting in than ever.

When I'm invited to join a mission to uncover a long-lost magical artifact, it feels like my chance to prove myself—and help protect the academy, which appears to be under threat by the increasingly present Magical Botanical Board of Regents.

As the new academic year unfolds, I'm navigating an unexpected field studies assignment, the mysteries of my elusive powers, and my growing feelings for my impossibly attractive and possibly off-limits tutor, Callan Rhodes.

But when the mission to find the artifact takes us beyond the safety of the academy's verdant shield, I realize the stakes may be greater than I imagined. Can we succeed in recovering the artifact, or are we about to unearth more than we bargained for?

If you’re looking for a heartwarming escape filled with magic, romance, and rich worldbuilding, Evergreen Conservatory is a must-read. Heather Schneider has crafted a charming, whimsical world where college students study magical botany, on a campus that is basically the secret garden brought to life!

This second installment in the Society of Magical Botanists series expands beautifully on the original universe. The worldbuilding deepens in all the right ways, with new corners of the magical realm to explore and fresh layers of the national impact of the botany magical history and culture. I loved how the plot evolved naturally while also giving more spotlight to side characters who truly came alive.

But let’s talk about Briar and Callen. Their chemistry is pure magic. The romantic tension? Immaculate. The treehouse scene? Four words had me melting. It’s swoony, it’s tender, and it hits all the right notes!

Whether you're here for the cozy vibes, the budding romance, or the intricate magical systems, Evergreen Conservatory delivers. Highly recommend to fans of cozy fantasy, magical academia, and slow-burn love stories that feel both magical and real.

A Spectacular Sequel !

I really liked Evergreen Conservatory! It continues Briar Wheelan’s story at Evergreen and shows her learning more about her powers while dealing with bigger and more dangerous problems around the school. I loved seeing her grow more confident and determined, especially when things got stressful. Her relationship with Callan Rhodes also develops more in this book, and the slow-burn tension between them made me even more invested in what happens next.

The magical botany world is still one of my favorite parts — it feels cozy but also full of mystery and surprises. I also enjoyed seeing Briar interact with her friends like Yasmin and Hollis, because their support really adds to the story. Her Aunt also plays an important role and helps give more insight into Briar’s past and motivations.

The audiobook narrator also did a fantastic job. There are so many characters, and each voice sounded unique and easy to tell apart, which made the story even more enjoyable. The only small issue I had was with Callan’s voice — it was noticeably quieter than the others, so I kept having to adjust the volume. Aside from that, the narration was great.

Overall, the story kept me hooked and definitely made me excited for what comes next in the series 🌿✨
