Plus-sized P.I. Savannah Reid has no problem mixing business with pleasure - especially if that means a free trip while on the job. But when a gruesome murder rocks the boat, Savannah may finally be in over her head.

Nothing satisfies Savannah's soul like nabbing bad guys - except maybe indulging in a juicy novel. So when famed mystery writer Natasha Van Cleef invites the Moonlight Magnolia Detective Agency on an Alaskan cruise in exchange for some personal protection, Savannah is instantly onboard with the idea. The voyage goes smoothly - at least, until Natasha and her husband flee the ship without explanation and get killed in a suspiciously explosive crash.

Awash in regret, Savannah and the MM crew won't return home to San Carmelita until they expose whoever caused the fatal "accident". But Savannah and her team have their work cut out for them when they discover that Natasha's life was far more dramatic than any of her best sellers. Not only were her marriage and literary career splattered with bad blood, but the author also had a crazed fan tracking her every move. With suspects and clues flooding in by the boatful, it's all hands on deck as Savannah rushes to seize the murderer before she lands herself in hot water next.

Where does Every Body on Deck rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

By fluke a few years back I happened upon this series and have been hooked ever since. This particular book was so entertaining from Chapter one! I don't know if I have gone through Savannah withdrawals or not but I laughed and enjoyed the book from beginning to end. Dina Pearlman is great with this series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Every Body on Deck?

The last chapter. I won't say why as not to give away the ending.

Which character – as performed by Dina Pearlman – was your favorite?

I would have to say "Gran".

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The end of the book.

Any additional comments?

Keep them coming. I may have to start listening to the series from the beginning to get my Savannah Reid fix!

Savannah Reid! Love her!

I have read all the Savannah Reid novels. This was my first listening to one. Savannah should have a voice more like Brenda Leigh from "The Closer". This narrator has a hard edge to her voice. Not soft and sugary sweet like a true Southern woman's voice. She cannot 'do' a Southern accent. I loved the story, although some Alaskan 'facts' should be checked.... I lived in Alaska five years and am Southern born and bred and currently reside in TN. It was a good listen. Also, narrator's choice of a 'voice' for Tammy was poor. Please ask Kyra Sedgwick to read the next book!!!!

Poor choice of narrator
