Private investigators Troy and Eva Winters are looking forward to a visit with their old college buddy, Joe, when he invites them over for a barbecue and to talk over details of a case. The night soon turns awkward when Joe’s neighbors are overheard in an argument, which suddenly turns deadly silent.

When Troy completes the assignment and brings the evidence to Joe, his friend is nowhere to be found. Troy’s life is soon in danger when he begins a search and stumbles across the neighbor’s evil secret.

As Eva stays behind to dig up clues, State Trooper Mike Stevens joins Troy in a frenzied trip across the country to find a killer, who leaves bodies like breadcrumbs of clues in a nefarious chase from Oregon to Florida.

Critic reviews

"Private Investigator Troy Winters is asked to investigate a case for an old friend, but the friend’s case pales in comparison to what’s going on with the friend’s next-door neighbor, who appears to be hiding something evil. When the friend goes missing and foul play is suspected, Troy and Sergeant Mike Stevens begin a chase across the country on a hunt for a killer, while Troy’s wife and fellow investigator, Eva, stays behind to help with research. This race against the clock is a clever addition to North’s PI thriller series.” (Angela M., line editor, Red Adept Editing)

Another heart stopping novel by this author. David Scott knows how to deliver on keeping sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for what happens next. The writing flows well. The pace quick and action-packed. I highly recommend this book.

When Troy looks into a case of probable insurance fraud for his old college buddy Joe, it seems simple and clear cut, and it was until the favor nearly costs Troy his life! I was glued to my headphones, firmly perched on the edge of my seat, heart in my throat, dreading the next events while at the same time BREATHLESS with anticipation the entire time I listened to “Every Last Drop”! I can’t give ANY plot details without indulging in huge spoilers so let me just assure that this magnificently written story has EVERYTHING a perfectly written mystery-thriller needs, and I loved it. Also, the easy flowing story is perfectly paced, leaves no unanswered questions and the characters are interesting, diverse and well defined. I really love the continued growth and development of the series recurring characters! All of the acton, and there is plenty, is brought to life by clear, consistent, emotionally engaging and effective narration, sending this five star winner one right over the top!

At first I was all for the murder his wife and neighbor both were a pain in the ass but he did take it quite far all for the all mighty $. But a friend that’s to much. The book did have a few funny parts. But the narration left a lot to be desired. If you can’t do a woman’s voice than don’t try we will understand.

Troy and Eva can't get away from murder,at least someone trying to kill them and their friends. Hank starts out rather sane, then with creepy narration by David Scott,he morphs into a true psycho. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I'm slightly embarrassed to say I rooted for Hank.
His wife was a nightmare and should have stayed in her own lane , or shut her mouth. She annoyed me too. Adam got just deserts. I like Eva and Troy but I rooted against them this time. Joe was a nosey neighbor. Who walks into a house without an invite,??? He pushed things past invasion status in my mind. I saw a lot of the kills as self defense for Hank. Too many people opposed him and he was just defending himself.
I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.
