The exceptionally twisty - and twisted - new thriller from the author of Rules for Perfect Murders

After a whirlwind, fairytale romance, Abigail Baskin marries freshly-minted Silicon Valley millionaire Bruce Lamb.

For their honeymoon, he whisks her away to an exclusive retreat at a friend's resort off the Maine coast on Heart Pond Island. But once there, Abigail's perfect new life threatens to crash down around her as she recognises one of their fellow guests as the good looking, charismatic stranger who weeks earlier had seduced her at her own Bachelorette party...

I’m a big fan of Peter Swanson’s books and this was probably my favorite so far. The characters were realistic and the pace was great. I couldn’t stop listening. The narrator was excellent. Good job, Peter!

I almost returned this title but stuck it out because I was on a long drive. I'm glad I finished it, but when the story begins with the protagonist not acting "right," it's tough for me to be sympathetic towards them. Additionally, both the husband and the other guy were creepy, too, so there was nobody to root for, and you already knew bad things were going to happen. It was just too glum all around. The rest of the story was sadistic, but fairly interesting, so I was entertained. Still, I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as the other books by this author.

Very Dark & Creepy

The Kind Worth Killing is one of my favorite mystery/thrillers. I have also enjoyed a couple other Swanson books, But I disliked this and wondered if it was just a potboiler or some very juvenile attempt on his part. Creepy people with very unrealistic behavior and way too much filler about extraneous things and people. Overhyped "thrills," and classic but regrettable moves by the protagonist. SPOILER: at one point she runs to a deserted and derelict old camp building for safety! I didn't quit because it was like watching a car crash and I needed to see how much worse it could get, but did have it on 1.5 speed from about the middle.

As a Swanson Fan, I'm disappointed
