This 1,000-entry A-Z by the author of Air Crashes and Miracle Landings explains the “nuts-and-bolts” of aviation.
The entries are written simply and effectively with narratives that keep the readers intrigued and well informed even about topics loosely related to aviation such as the madman theory in international relations.
Entries of special interest have been placed under the letter E as “EXCEPTIONAL ENTRIES” so the reader can pick them out.
These include:

There are both printed and Kindle versions.
The Kindle has advantages in that its Search Function enables one to find all places a particular word is mentioned. Also, one can go straight to Internet links simply by clicking on them.
However, the voluminous printed version may be best for casually perusing it over time and building up a treasure trove of invaluable and fascinating knowledge.
This makes it an excellent present, especially for the young.
Besides captivating them, it could greatly help them should they opt for an aviation related career, which could include being a pilot, cabin crew, dispatcher, working in airline management, or as an air traffic controller, not to mention other enterprises such as engineering companies.
Savvy passengers may find the book has not only made them feel safer but their flight more interesting.
