Sometimes life stagnates, right?
Routines set in.
Life becomes predictable.
Starting a new relationship isn't something you want to do in a hurry after the man you loved turned out to be a lying, cheating, grade-A p****.
I felt like my life had stagnated. Become predictable. Although, getting rid of the grade-A p**** wasn’t a huge loss. I mean, things were good, in reality, I had a nice life. It was just that, it felt like something was missing. I wanted something new. Something different. But, you know, you really should be careful what you wish for because, one day, I stood underneath an archway on an unassuming little back street, and everything changed.
I got something different.
I experienced something new.
Something unbelievable. Incredible. Unexplainable...
I was somehow thrust back forty-one years, to a decade I didn’t belong in. Six years before I was born.
Was I scared? Yeah. Of course I was. Who wouldn’t be?
Did I think I was going mad? At first, yes.
But then I met him. Zane. A man who belonged in 1983. I didn’t.
A man I shouldn’t have had feelings for. But, hey, everyone loves a curve ball, right? No. Not this one. Definitely not this one.
I’d been given a way to travel between decades, and I didn’t know why. Because there had to be a reason, I was certain of that. These kinds of things – weird, crazy things – they didn’t happen to people like me, so, there had to be a reason. A reason why I met a man like Zane, in 1983. A reason why I had to lie; keep secrets from those I loved in 2025, because nobody would understand. Nobody would believe me.
Nobody.
So I chose to believe in fate. Because everything happens for a reason, doesn’t it?
Possibly.
Maybe.
Definitely…
