As a professional football player, Jrue should be living a life of luxury when he's not on the field. Yet, he finds himself with the odds stacked against him. If it's not his money hungry and resentful family members trying to dip in his pockets, it's women coming at him from all angles. Tired and frustrated, Jrue finds himself being traded to Atlanta, his hometown, and he can only hope for some peace. Yet, his cup is looking half-empty instead of half-full. Fleeing one problem, only for several more to be waiting for him causes Jrue to experience a mental spiral.

Jream has never been the center of anyone's universe. Not her mother's—who's suffering from early onset Alzheimer's and other mental issues, not the man she can't seem to escape—who think it's his right to treat her like trash, and not the world who refuses to value Black women. A little bit of light between the stormy clouds is all Jream wants, but it feels so out of reach.

Jrue and Jream are two broken, and tortured souls. Entering one another's orbit could be dangerous, causing everyone to be sucked into a black hole, or they may just have the luck of a shooting star on their side.

Contains mature themes.

I like the story. Narration can make a story great or just ok. Winston James can bring ANY story to life. However, J Y Kora has such a monotone voice that she is not the right narrator for Jream character.

Cute love story

I definitely recommend this one. I really liked the story line. I enjoyed the journey that the main characters went through both in their own respective lives and self discovery / healing and the journey they went through together.

im kind of new to J. Y Kora as a narrator. I was not disappointed. usually if its not Wesleigh Siobhan or J. Shani Michaels I have a hard time listening to these books but J. Y Kora did her thing. I like her voice and she does a great job of reading in a way that makes it easy to follow and imagine. Winston James didn't come to play. like always he did an amazing job.

I really enjoyed this one. and im hoping that there's more to come from this author. And if so I hope they get the same narrators to bring the stories to life.

5 stars all around for me. no complaints.

I really enjoyed this one!

I loved the story, however Jream annoyed me, the little girl mentality when everyone around her kept telling her to focus on herself. Jrue is book bae for sure. The narrators chef's kiss.

Jream really annoyed me

I enjoyed the story, kept me interested with no slow or boring parts, which is always a plus. I had difficulty liking the mfc's personality. The whole "I dont want to be seen like a victim" while behaving like a victim was annoying - realistic but still annoying. She did, however, have redeemable qualities and was a good match for the mmc.

Overall Great Story
