What stood out the most for this book was Sam Kusi’s superb, deep baritone narration that reminded me of the late James Earl Jones. The voice is resonant and elevated the fable-like stories, none of which I heard before. The stories themselves are closer to Aesop’s fables because animals, plants, and insects talk, and the often didactic tales are aimed at children to educate rather than entertain. I would listen to volume 2 just to hear Sami Kusi’s lullaby voice.
