Only the chosen shall breed.

Nova, Kian, Dex, and Wren.

Four divided hearts. Four teens no longer sure what they’re fighting for.

Their society was meant to mold human evolution. Their future, and that of Earth, was to be decided by the kindest and smartest. Askala was supposed to be a beacon of hope in a flooded, desecrated world.

Except the line between the Bound and Unbound is blurring. The Outlands is no longer some distant, faceless world. And the Remnants have a leader who knows more about them than any Remnant before.

In a world devastated by global warming, the fight for survival has always been deadly. Now, the battle for Askala is about to define the very future of humanity.

But...does the greatest threat lie within?

Lovers of Divergent, The Hunger Games, and The Maze Runner will be blown away by the breathtaking new series from USA Today best-selling author Tamar Sloan and award-winning author Heidi Catherine.

This is a great 3rd book for this series so far (I’m in the middle of it as I write this) but the errors with editing the audio are starting to get on my nerves (repeated lines, background noises, etc)

Enjoyable but a lot of editing errors

Amazing story and narration, production needs some editing though. Some weird gaps and lots of repeated sentences. Easy to get over and still worth the listen.

Great story and narration bad audio

The book is great and the narrator does a great job but there are frequent production issues. Lines are repeated and there are unusually long gaps of silence that had me checking if the audiobook has accidentally paused. Otherwise it’s a great listen. I am always caught off guard by the cliffhanger endings in all the books on the series so far, though. It’s a bit unsettling.

The story and format are great! The only issue I had was this third reading in the series. There were a lot of repeated lines, and some changes in the way certain names were pronounced. I just think it needed more editing. Otherwise, it was really quite good!

I like this story and series quite a bit so far. I find the characters intriguing and dynamic.
The narrator is okay but not the greatest. I do wish they had a second male narrator for the male chapters. I don’t know
The main reason I’m giving this book a lower score is because I find the production quality severely lacking. There are multiple times when it cuts back to a sentence or phrase and it repeats a second or even third time. There are awkward pauses in the middle of what should be one unbroken sentence. It makes the book less enjoyable than it should be.

If you are able to deal with the production quality I do recommend this series.
