But when danger follows them to their supposed safe haven, Claire and Nick no longer know who is helping or harming them. Racked by doubt and mistrust, still hunted, they must band together or fall.

too much going on for me

IMO the MC Claire Britten's is not a strong MC and I found it hard to connect to her. I find her difficult to relate to or empathize with in this novel - In all fairness I started on this book (#3) and not book 1 but I found the stranded with your new husband and ex-husband in WITSEC on the run really hard to get my head around only to end up in Cuba and trying to escape....harder to believe

I personally found that Claire's character build was lacking...maybe that's why I couldn't empathize with her and wanted to scream ....you're a forensic phycologist, grow a back bone...at times
