He didn’t want complications. She was looking for a miracle.

Quinn Freeman has spent his life avoiding the dangers of commitment, but his reluctant return to his home town that’s in tragedy for his family stirs up memories and emotions he’d intended to leave buried. His arrival lights hope in many hearts including one long dormant.

Meghan O’Reilly, the town’s only plumber and solo caretaker of her dependent sister, is weighted down with responsibility. She only sees in Quinn a careless charmer who isn’t used to hard work - but she still can’t keep from imagining his kiss...and longing for his touch.

Surely some things, like a fling between them, can be simple...Or is it possible for a fling to become forever?

What a sweet story surrounding family tragedy. Megan and Quinn have great chemistry and are characters you can’t help but love. The narrator does a great job as well.

It's such a beautiful small-town love story.
It's about family and what we will do for the ones we love.

I enjoyed this story. It felt like KH was back. The story is of 2 broken people finding strength from each other. The level of detail was perfect, allowing each character to develop fully. While this is definitely a bit more risqué than her more wholesome books, it is NOT erotica, not porn. Think of it as an R rated movie, you see a little skin, see the movements of what's going on but not privy to the blow by blow or genital descriptions. It might make some blush though.

Also, I liked the hint of autism spectrum introduced through sister, Polly. It was respectful without giving us a psych lesson.

Very Good, a bit R rated.

A story I could see happening. I have seen how one business gone takes the whole town down.
