Eden will do anything to protect her son, even flee to a small-town Christmas tree farm in Maine. Beau will go to the ends of the earth to keep Eden safe. But who's going to protect his heart from a woman who can't seem to trust again? Perfect for fans of Hallmark Christmas movies and Debbie Macomber.

Speeding north through rural Maine, Eden Martelli wonders how her life came to this--on the run with her mute five-year-old son dozing fitfully in the passenger seat. When a breakdown leaves them stranded in Summer Harbor, Eden has no choice but to stay put through Christmas . . . even though they have no place to lay their heads.

Beau Callahan is a habitual problem solver--for other people anyway. He left the sheriff's department to take over his family's Christmas tree farm, but he's still haunted by the loss of his parents and struggling to handle his first Christmas alone.

When Eden shows up looking for work just as Beau's feisty aunt gets out of the hospital, Beau thinks he's finally caught a break. Eden is competent and dedicated--if a little guarded--and a knockout to boot. But, as he soon finds out, she also comes with a boatload of secrets.

Eden has been through too much to trust her heart to another man, but Beau is impossible to resist, and the feeling seems to be mutual. As Christmas Eve approaches, Eden's past catches up to her.

Beau will go to the ends of the earth to keep her safe. But who's going to protect his heart from a woman who can't seem to trust again?

If you long for a love that conquers all fear, for a heroine who never gives up on hope even when the night is darkest, Falling Like Snowflakes is the story that will warm your heart this holiday season. Start the Summer Harbor series with Eden and Beau, and let their journey of secrets, trust, and second chances remind you that home and love may be found in the most unexpected snowfall.

This was an entertaining romantic story that ticked a number of boxes for me. Well written, the narration was okay, but the narrator’s voice was the same for all characters, both male and female and that was off putting. and the narrators were easy to listen to. I was invested in the story and I really liked the characters. The added suspense elements added an additional layer to the story.

Entertaining

The characters and story seemed to lack depth and the story did not reach its potential. The other characters did not come through in the narration. It felt a bit one dimensional and disappointing.

Gets better as you get into the story, particularly since it was free. May try another book by this author.

Okay but not great

This is one of my favorite books! I chose to listen to this audiobook as a reread because I've read the story in print a couple of times and I love it so much, but I had never listened to it before. This is also the first time that I've reread it since I've completed the entire series.

I loved it all over again. In fact, I loved it even more because I noticed little hints and details that meant more to me this time than they did the first time that I read, now that I know the story on all of the characters.

This story features Beau Callahan and Eden Martelli, as well as Eden's son Micah. Eden has shown up in Beau's small town of Summer Harbor, Maine with her young son in tow, and no one knows anything about her except that she needs a job and that she is fiercely protective of her child. Beau needs some help around the house and ends up employing her. While the two have a very slow-burning romance that buds, the story of why Eden is on the run slowly unfolds.

This is very much a story of family relationships-with a great, great setting. The Callahan Brothers are awesome and I loved getting to know them and their relationship to the town. Beau, in particular, is very easy to connect with as a character because he has such a good heart. He does find himself in quite a predicament where his romantic feelings are concerned, and only part of this is because Eden has a difficult time trusting other people. Eden is more guarded than Beau is, but as her story unfolds, it is understandable why this is so.

I loved listening to this story for my reread. I wish some of the more suspenseful parts and some of the more emotional conversations and reveals had been more emotive in terms of the narration, but I would absolutely listen to this one again in a heartbeat. It's one of my forever-favorites.

Love love love this one!
