Hawken Trent. So polite. So sweet. Such an upstanding young man. A virgin, too, I hear. He never gets naughty with a girl. Probably because Jesus told him not to. And now here he is, trying to be the hero by protecting another girl from me.
He calls me a bully. Irrational. Unreasonable. A criminal. He can call me anything he wants, I’ve heard worse. And he can try to stand between me and my money, but he’s never had to fight for food. That rich, clean, school boy doesn’t have what it takes.
Hawke
I surprised her. You should’ve seen her face.
Just because I don’t have a record, honey, doesn’t mean I’m clean. It just means I’m better at not getting caught. That is until I realize I might’ve actually gone too far this time.
She’s there. I’m there. The scene of the crime. It’s dark. The police show up. We have no choice. We run. Down High Street, into Quinn’s bake shop, and I pull her through the entrance to the old speakeasy that everyone forgot was here decades ago.
The door locks, the cops circle the building, never knowing we’re right here, and I’m hidden in plain sight, indefinitely, with someone’s who’s awful. Mean. Rough. Dirty. A thief. A delinquent.
Until one night, lost in all of these rooms together, I don’t see any of those things anymore. She’s smart. Daring. Soft. Hot… Everything’s changing. It’s this place. It does something to people.
We have a silly urban legend in Shelburne Falls about mirrors. They’re a gateway. Don’t lean back into them. But we came through front first. I don’t care what the county records say. This was never a speakeasy. It’s Carnival Tower.
Fall Boys is a standalone new adult romance suitable for listeners eighteen plus. Listening to the Falls Away series first is helpful but not necessary.

Not sure what’s up with the reviews, but I enjoyed this book very much. Was this one of Penelope Douglas best…No, but I still liked it. I still think she’s a brilliant writer and I’m sure she’s about to take her readers on a crazy ride with this series.
Falls Boys had all my favorites that I look forward too..Strong FMC, enemies to lovers, hot sex scenes, suspense and a lot of “Love Me’s”
I was a little lost for a minute in this book, before everything clicked. I see what Miss. Penelope is doing…Hence why she’s a great Author!
At first I didn’t know how to take Hawke and I wasn’t a huge fan of him. I found Hawke character to be a little bit of a prude and a softy which was different to read since most of Pen’s heroes are arrogant and hard. So it needed up being a good different..I like how Hawke cared who he wanted to be with, so I’m unsure why people were upset about Hawke being a virgin? Can’t a man wait for his special person too? So by the end of the book I ended up really liking him and totally understood where he was coming from..
Aro was amazing and I loved her character. She didn’t trust many people but with her up bringing I can see why, but she let Hawke in which I found endearing, because she really didn’t know how to let people in. I really enjoyed reading how Hawke and Aro’s just kinda feel into there love for each other.
This book definitely kept me intrigued and I’m excited to continue this series. I have a feeling Dylan, Hunter and Kade are going to be one love story and a lotta hotness! so I am looking forward to that. Another thing I’d like to point out is how Miss Penelope brought back some of her old characters in this book and that brought back some good memories…♥️♥️
Ok, so this last part is the one thing that I can’t seem to setup thinking about and it’s driving me crazy, in Chapter twenty-two there is two men that are talking which I believe are the guys the Carnival Tower story is about….one is named Deacon, but the other one was referred as “He”.
Now I maybe wrong but wasn’t Damon in Devils Night a twin? Please Help! lol
I definitely would recommend reading this book… especially if you love Penelope Douglas!
Audiobook review: 5 stars to Abby Craden she was wonderful to listen too and I hope to listen to her more. My reasoning for the 4 stars was the male narrator, which was Axel Bosley he just didn’t do it for me. I stopped listening to him after the second chapter and read the chapters myself. His voice to me was not a good fit for the character Hawke.

Honestly, this book/audio was great I’ll probably come back and revisit this book in a couple of months & hopefully we can get the rest of the stories on here.
The authors note was just something I didn’t expect but grateful that Penelope shared something about her, love her even more! So thank you Penelope for being a hero.
