The Chinatown setting is wonderful, the story is terrific, and the characters, major and minor, are fascinating.

PIs Lydia and Bill Rule! Terrific deep dive into NYC’s Chinatown with family and tong mysteries at its core; tong old guard vs. new, neighborhood preservation vs. development, all infused with the aromas of Chinese teas and pastries. Emily Woo Zeller narration is top notch, clearly differentiating between male and female characters, and various accents, and capturing the person behind the voice of every character.
