Meg Ripley
A healer who gave up on love.
A polar bear sworn to duty.
And the Christmas magic they never saw coming.
I thought I’d be spending another Christmas without a mate,
But one look into Lars Olsen’s eyes beneath the mistletoe
Tells my bear, at forty, she’s finally found her other half.
The problem?
This rugged polar bear shifter lives in Norway,
Guarding an energy node that keeps the world spinning.
When Salem’s energy lines begin to fail, Lars agrees to help,
Uncovering secrets that run darker than winter nights.
Working beside him enhances my healing magic—
But awakens wounds I have yet to heal in my own heart.
My bear wants him.
My heart fears losing him.
Is a Christmas miracle enough to rewrite fate itself?
Steamy shifter love scenes and a HEA inside! No cheating or cliffhanger in this standalone romance. Listeners 18+.

Amanda and Lars Christmas love story goes well beyond just a fated shifter romance. If this is your first time stumbling onto a Meg Ripley book, she shakes up the paranormal shifter romance trope with a variety of other tropes thrown in just to make the storylines unpredictable and interesting. Even though many of the series are interlinked with one another, I have yet to experience feeling like it is just the same storyline with different characters retold.
Amanda is a bear shifter who is also part witch belonging to a coven of other witch shifters in Salem, Massachusetts. Lars is a visiting polar bear shifter from Norway who is a guardian of the ley lines to a dragon clan he knows. How many different tropes so far? Idk but it all works for a great story to listen to. Add in a Christmas romance, fated mates, later in life and an event no one saw coming needing to be dealt with just to increase the hooks to reel you in.
In the end love always wins the day and a new couple find their way to be together.
I can't recommend these books and series, especially the audio versions enough. The narrator DC Cole's voice wasn't exactly what I expected this time around, sounding more like an even older generation than the characters, but it works. He does an excellent job when it comes to varying his voice to represent the endless characters making an enjoyable experience for the listener. I can't think of any point in which I couldn't tell who the character was in a scene in a particular moment.
I await the next book or boxes set eager to enjoy hearing the next adventure and characters to fall in love.

The family dynamics added a lot of heart, and the light magical touches gave the story an extra layer without taking away from the romance. Both characters having their own hint of magic made the world feel a little richer.
There’s spice, there’s tension, and the emotional beats land in a really grounded way. Honestly, I could’ve listened to a few more hours. It’s warm, well‑rounded, and exactly why Meg Ripley stays on my must‑read list.
