Facing fear for once and for all

I’ve long had a mesmerizing fascination for Mount Everest and along comes this captivating novella, compliments of a favorite author of mine, Lee Cooper. I was enthralled by “Fear Peak,” exquisitely narrated by Maria Marquis. The story takes us on an unforgettable journey to Mt. Everest Base Camp, with vivid descriptions that transported me to the rugged Himalayas. The narrative follows Elizabeth, her brother Hank and Luke as they embark on a perilous expedition to fulfill a promise. Guided by Priya, they face treacherous weather conditions, a perilous climb and the physical toll of high altitude. But things take a mysterious turn when local legends of a Yeti or Abominable Snowman start to seem more real than myth. Marquis' narration is exceedingly superb, bringing characters and scenery to life with her pitch-perfect vocals. I was thoroughly captivated by the blend of adventure, mystery and suspense. If, like me, you're a fan of thrilling tales with a touch of the unknown, “Fear Peak” is a must-have. My sincere thanks to Mr. Cooper for remembering me and extending another offer of a much appreciated free code.

I enjoyed the plot and the narrator did a good job with her expressions

A big story inside of a short story

This is the first time I am reading anything by this author. It was such fun from the beginning, twist and turns along the way. I can’t wait to read more from Lee

What a great listen.

This short story turned out to be a really great listen. I wasn't ready for the shift in the plot but it was great. I could see a second a part two easily.
