The Earth lies shaken in the aftermath of a conspiracy. Some of the smartest minds on the planet have striven for and died in an effort to scour the skies of four vast alien satellites, but their success has brought a terrible vengeance down upon us.

While alien agents stalk the Earth, a team of exhausted scientists and military outcasts struggle to fight them among a planet on the brink - the brink of plague, the brink of war, and the brink of an invasion larger than they can possibly imagine. But they have allies. Two of the alien agents have forsaken their homes, their families, and their very species to stop the greatest act of genocide any of them has ever known. They carry with them the knowledge we need to save humanity and take us into a new and marvelous age.

But Lana and the remaining enemy agents are far from defeated. As they begin to reap havoc among the diseased and bereft, Neal, Ayala, and Barrett must find a way to achieve the impossible - by fair means or foul, they must unite the world's disparate nations. And they must do so quickly, for the Armada is fast approaching, and behind the great fires of their decelerating engines, the huge fleet is readying itself for war.

After reading the first book, I thought that it would be difficult to keep up the momentum in the second. However, Stephen Moss does not disappoint. In fact, Fear the Survivors has the potential to even surpass the first installment. Great read. 👍

Stunning

Fear The Survivors is a very enjoyable book, the characters are vivid and realistic. In fact, the only thing I dislike about the book and its series, is how it has tainted the name Lana. There are some things to keep in mind, but these are merely potholes and do not obstruct enjoyment from the series. It is just better to know they are there so that you can deal with them.

This book is very name heavy, far more so than the first, eg: a character known by two names is now known by three. A lot of new characters are also established, and a lot of their names are non-English names, which is fine, of course, but if you have trouble with names as I do, you'll need to take special care in remembering who is who.

As mentioned in the title, the book is fairly slow. There are a lot of action scenes, but the main focus of the book is very similar to when the scientists came together in order to find the fallen meteor in the Indian ocean. However, in seemingly typical Moss fashion, the slow parts are equally as important, if not more so to pay attention to, than the fast paced parts.

It is also an imaginative book, requiring you to picture bizarre and unorthodox scenarios, especially when it comes to flight and weaponry.

Survivors is a very close second in terms of enjoyment when compared to the first. A lot of the book is setup for the third and final instalment which I have already pre-ordered and am waiting for with anticipation. What I have listed are not flaws, they are things I feel you should be aware of as a listener in order to fully appreciate the book to its entirety.

Slower than the first, but no less enjoyable.

Its everything you loved in Fear the sky! But just escalated to the next logical step. So far my favorite Sci fi series in recent years.

Amazing follow up!

What made the experience of listening to Fear the Survivors the most enjoyable?

The unique story and the depth of the characters. Of course, the narration. I loved this series. When I finished book one (Fear the Sky) , the second hadn't come out yet. I waited for months for it's release. Saying that the wait was difficult is an understatement. Getting through this series has been one of my most memorable experiences with a book series I have ever had.
