Good girls are saved by princes, but my savior is a monster.

After my father died and my family splintered, I became a target, a pawn in a game I didn't know I was playing.

Then he appeared—dark, dangerous, tormented, and always just within reach.

He makes me come alive. He makes me remember.

He makes me feel something I lost years ago: safe.

And he thinks he can keep me at arm's length.

Once upon a time I was a hero, until the sins of my father caught up with me, and I was forced into darkness.

I should've died in that fire. Instead, I served evil men, until I risked it all by walking away.

Now I'm a wanted man. At any time, I could be taken down for what I owe.

What I don't expect to find in my hiding place is her—broken, beautiful, so damn tempting.

I was hired to keep her safe. I shouldn't touch her with my filthy hands.

But every day it gets harder, then she starts sneaking into my bed.

Together, we're filthy, but together, we can find our way through the flames.

Filthy is a stand-alone, bodyguard, romantic suspense novel. It contains a fierce, wounded protector and the damaged young woman he's hired to save. No cheating. No cliff-hangers.

Could not put down!!! This is Scar & Hana’s story, and what a ride it is! Emotional in so many ways, for both Scar & Hana. Their journey to fight their own demons, and to be able to open up to each other was so intense at times. And heartbreaking (tears were definitely involved). But there was also some fun and lots of love! Just loved it! And I LOVED listening to Teddy Hamilton 😍 and Samantha Brentmoor. Can’t wait for Dirk’s book!

😍😍😍

it's not what you think.

I wanted to listen to this first, but after reading reviews I decided to read Fearless first. You definitely need to read it first. This is not a standalone at all. So I read Fearless, and it was pretty good, but it got me so excited to listen to this book. It teased at a certain dynamic between Skar and Hana. Serious Daddy vibes. Maybe a little age play? Definitely hinted at a D/s relationship. This book is NOT that. It was vanilla AF. Which was a huge let down for me. BUT if you were worried about this book because you didn't want to read that stuff, have no fear because it was clean by my standards. Even though Skar's inner monolog hinted at some rougher stuff, it never actually happened. It's honestly one of my biggest pet peeves, when I expect a book to be a certain way, based on descriptions and dynamics being laid out in a previous book, and then it's nothing like what I expect. Really, the biggest disappointment was how both Skar and Hana were portrayed in Fearless did NOT match in Filthy. Skar was supposed to be this big, broken, rough silent type, but he wasn't as extreme as Fearless made him seem. Definitely not rough. And Hana was supposed to be an almost child-like girl in need of some serious guidance and discipline and a firm hand. She was not that at all. There was a couple of times the author seemed to push for that image, like her sitting on the floor? But she was so different in Filthy than she was in Fearless.

As for the story, it was pretty cheesy if you ask me. which is fine, but since I was already annoyed by the let down, I was being extra critical I think. But the story is a little confusing, and definitely left too many questions unanswered. It also lost focus too often. There was a big subplot involving Pepper that just didn't seem like it needed to be focused on in the story, but that's just my opinion.

As for the narration, Samantha was okay. I didn't really think her voice fit with the Hana I thought I was getting based on her character in Fearless, but probably worked fine for the Hana in this story. But I didn't like her male voice at all. Teddy on the other hand was simply fantastic, he's always fantastic, and the fact that he narrated this book is the entire reason I bought on Audible instead of just reading on KU.

Wow, this raw and emotional romance is so exhilarating, and seductive! We first met the mysterious Scar, and the fragile Hana, in Fearless, and I couldn't wait to learn more about their poignant story. They were drawn to each other from their first meeting. Hana felt safe and protected with Scar and he understands her demons, wanting to slay them for her. Neither feels worthy of love, but they make each other want to be better. They are both so broken and their pieces fit so perfectly, making each other whole. As they find their way together, they both have dreadful, dangerous pasts that need to be resolved. But Scar has secrets that could tear them apart, and get them killed. This story was so addictive it held me captive with all of its twists and turns, and sizzling passion, keeping me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. I really liked both Scar and Hana especially with all of their flaws and brokenness. Hana is strong, resilient, and determined. She was the perfect match for the valiant, protective, Scar. I also liked getting to know Pepper more, and the direction her life is taking, giving this story a sweetness that warmed my heart.
Teddy Hamilton, and Samantha Brentmoor were amazing as they brought this story to life. Hamilton performed Scar's need to protect Hana with the perfect balance of his conflicting struggle with feeling worthy enough to make Hana his. Brentmoor played Hana beautifully showing her growth from giving in to her demons to pursuing her dreams and wanting to be a better person, for herself, not just to please others. Scar and Hana's thrilling story was fast paced, heart-pounding, emotional, and very sexy, and I loved every moment! There are so many secrets that make this story completely captivating, but there are still some that need to be revealed, and Derek is just the man for the job!

Heart-pounding and Steamy Romance!

Audiobook: Narrators - Teddy Hamilton & Samantha Brentmoor

What an exceptional performance by these narrators. I love listening to Mr. Hamilton at any time, but as the voice of Scar, I was a goner! It was pure swoon from the very beginning.

This was a multidimensional story with so much more going on than what is on the surface. This was deliciously steamy as well as filled with danger, drama and angst. I found myself laughing at times and crying at others, which is a sign of perfection in romance for me.

More than what's on the surface
