Jackie.

One name was all you needed. A paragon of femininity, fashion, ideal American wifeliness and motherhood, she was also fiercely independent, the first of the modern First Ladies. Then her husband was murdered, changing her world and ours.

Traumatized and exposed, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy nonetheless built a new life for herself in an America similarly haunted by upheaval. She dated and traveled ceaselessly before scandalizing the world by marrying a foreigner, living abroad, climbing pyramids, cruising the oceans, and wandering Europe braless and barefoot.

But the story of Jackie’s reinvention has been culturally erased. In Finding Jackie, author Oline Eaton pieces it back together.

Jackie’s story—treated like the national soap opera and transmitted through newspapers, magazines, images, and TV during the 1960s and 1970s—became wired into America’s emotional grid. Here, in Finding Jackie, she’s rediscovered as an adventurer, a wanderer, a woman, and an idea in whom, for over half a century, many Americans and people around the globe have deeply, fiercely wanted to believe.

It was a well laid out story of a very interesting and private woman. The book is written in the present tense, which I found to be annoying. Also, the reader used too many inflections with a single sentence and this was difficult for me to listen to. However, I finish the book and I found the content to be interesting and Thought-provoking.

Wonderful Angel Ari arrives to intervene on behalf of GOD'S MERCY. Grief is constant. Death can't be denied. Love matters. Beauty, bounty brains kindness. Horrors of evil. Lack of Culture makes America Provincial and it's moral bankruptcy ever present.

Could not tolerate the narration. Had to give up listening, as the voice gave me a headache.

Enjoyed

The absolutely wrong vibe for this content. The author has an interesting approach to telling Jackie’s story, but the reader sounds more invested in her performance than in delivering the right feeling for the story she’s telling us.

So NOT the right reader

This was long and tedious. It took several days to finish but I finally did thank God.

Boring at times
