In this sequel to Balefire...

Silke enlists friends and both her and Kirin's families to surprise Kirin with her dream Christmas. To complicate things Silke asks Kirin to marry her, and now she has two events to plan while they're back home in Milwaukee after three months in Belize.

As Silke and Kirin juggle family, Christmas, and a wedding, one thing is certain: it'll be a holiday season no one will ever forget.

I thought this story could have been so much better. I think this was the second audiobook in a mini series so there may have been some things I missed from book one.

I gave the story 3 stars because i felt that it was thin and mostly uneventful. I was hoping for more where it seemed to be just a wrap up. I didn't get a good background feel for the characters where I would have liked to. I would possibly go back and listen to the first book but this one was disappointing as a stand alone.

I gave "Flights of Fancy: Forever Windsor" written by Barrett an overall 4 stars because I felt that Sara Morsey saved the story. She's a wonderful voice actor with natural talent.

Any additional comments?

Silke and Kirin getting married was a beautiful conclusion to follow from the beginning of their meeting and love story from Barrett's earlier novel. It is a very beautiful LGBT love story.

Balefire was an awesome read! This story is also good. Barrett is an author with a good feeling for the balance between time, detail, narrative, and painting a picture for the audience.

The narrator is a good storyteller. I have a lot of respect for good, vocal storytellers, but the narrator's voice is not appropriate for the age of the main characters. Perhaps I'm an ageist. Sad if I am, but the voice is like 50-60, while the main characters are mid-20/30-somethings. Just not sexy for the range.

Love the Series; Listen for the Story, Not the Narrator
