Illustrative, demonstrative satire

I’m a fan of the account, which is why I’d been looking forward to this, but I wasn’t prepared for how skillfully the book alternates between meaningful analysis and illustrative bits of satire.

I went back to the chapter on humour to appreciate the really solid, nuanced analysis of power asymmetries in sexual stereotype jokes

It’s great to find writing about satire (and the need for it) that is both actually funny; and uses its humorous examples so clearly to illustrated its points.
