The Florida Keys are often called the “Caribbean of the Unites States.” They truly are a paradise rich in history, folk lore, mystery, colorful characters, natural geological creations and tropical splendor.
The short stories contained here are a glimpse into the history of the Florida Keys, its points of interest, its natural beauty, places where man touched the tropical paradise for the good and not so good reasons. The collection of short stories are the fabrication of the mind of the author, a long time Keys history buff. The stories are interspersed with facts of the sunny islands and shady characters.
Mr. Kadar is a retired professional educator, both as a classroom teacher and high school principal. He has written over 25 books ranging in subject matter from woodworking how-to-books, to novels, to books on shipwrecks of the Great Lakes, and true crimes.
Life has taken him and his wife Karen from one end of Interstate 75 in Upper Michigan at their cottage in Manistique, to the southern end of the interstate at a winter residence in the Florida Keys.
