Creating Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and hands-on producing its first 11 seasons gave food journalist David Page an appetite for the world of American food. Milktoast

Somewhat fascinating though noticeably service level tour through some of the United States’ most famous food groups. Usually centered around one or two famous individuals or restaurants, it sounds like a golden recipe for a great listen, though I was left feeling that the book came up short. This read as more of a laundry list of American foods than a deep dive into the cultural background that gave them rise. To be expected of a broad overview of all of USA cuisine. Overall good read.

Will induce hunger

This pretty much made me want to go all over the country and try all the different foods mentioned. I really enjoyed reading this.
