IRREVERENT AND PROVOCATIVE LOVE STORY...

Haunted by thousands of years of demon slaying to protect women from fallen angels (demons), Perseus regrets his decision to forgo afterlife with his beloved wife, Andromeda, when he is offered immortality by his father, the god Zeus. As he says, Hero stuff is hard to give up. Living in present day Philadelphia as billionaire philanthropist, David Danos, he walks in the shadows, hides from police, and tries to avoid Azriel, the Angel of Death, who wants to kill him for slaying all those angels. When, seemingly by fate or chance, Claire Zebriski runs into him with her pickup truck, his life changes. He's instantly smitten by her tumble of black hair and cerulean blue eyes. When she offers him a job on her ranch, he must accept to learn more about this extraordinary woman.

The story line is as well done as the characters, occasionally flashing back to ancient Greece, then returning with ease to the present-day dilemmas. The plot moves swiftly and catches the reader in its flow from the very beginning. The author has an effortless, comfortable writing style that makes for enjoyable reading. I completely savored this read and highly recommend it to fans of PNR, suspense, thrillers, or those who just enjoy a good story that happens to have supernatural beings. Readers will find some explicit material, as adult situations and language come into play occasionally. Neither is overdone in my opinion and fits the narrative. — Reedsy Discovery Five Star Review

Perseus is alive and well living as a billionaire and demon hunter. Being given immortality by his father, Zeus, Perseus has spent thousands of years hunting women-slaying demons. When he meets Claire, and the death angel Azriel shows up with an ultimatum, Perseus’ life becomes extremely complicated.

The author, Peter Benedict, connects myth and religious beings with a modern-day love story and murder mystery with political intrigue in a unique and fresh style. His writing is clear, building the characters slowly and with a deliberateness that allows the listener to vividly see the story come to life. The storyline moves at a steady clip with periods of suspense and “feel good” moments.

The narrator, Jason Markiewitz gives an accomplished performance with rich and unique voices for each character. Markiewitz speaks clearly and with an engaging style that draws the listener into the story and keeps them there. I find listening to Markiewitz pleasant, engaging, and authentic.

This audiobook is an engaging story that successfully mixes several genres within the book and does it well.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook, it was well done.

Interesting characters. I enjoyed all of the characters and their growth throughout the story. I felt like the president part was added for suspense, it didn’t flow as well. Overall, the story flowed well, it was definitely interesting to read about how she reacted to the supernatural world. The story flowed well and kept you rooting for them. I enjoyed how things turned out for them, even if the path was not easy. The book is worth reading ,because it is a little different.

The narration was okay. It did not help engage me in the story. In fact,I was going to give up,but decided to keep listening. I found it hard to engage in the story as the narrator read it. I received a copy of the audiobook from the author and am leaving an honest review.

Perseus has been sent by his father, Zeus, to kill the fallen angels, now demons, that have raped and killed women. He has become a veritable serial killer with how many demons he has encountered. It hasn't escaped the authorities that something odd is going on, and two detectives are on his tail 24/7. Claire Zebriski is an amazingly talented artist, particularly with sculpting metals of all sorts. Perseus is drawn to her talents and has frequent visions of Andromeda, his former wife, as his gaze lands on the sculpture she brought to the show to be sold. What are the odds! This is a fascinating story as the action weaves the past of the ancient Greeks into the present of New York City and Washington, DC. And the storyline takes some real interesting twists as it includes some men and women in the higher echelons of power who aren't at all what, or who, they seem to be. The asides about the political situation of the time are enlightening and somewhat frightening. Too close for comfort! The characters are all top-notch and so well-written that they really come to life. The narration is expertly done by Jason Markiewitz. His clear and dynamic voice gives each character a unique personality and attitude.
