Forbidden Ice Prince (Haven Academy Book 1) ~~ I read this book on Kindle and also listened to it on Audible, and this was a really fun introduction to the Haven Academy world. I love fantasy academy stories, and this one pulled me in right away with the elemental magic, magical bloodlines, and the tension between the main characters.
The story follows Helena, who suddenly discovers she has powerful fire magic after living a completely normal life. Once her magic is revealed, she’s taken to Haven Academy, a school where students with elemental abilities learn to control their powers. I always enjoy magical academy settings, and this one stood out because of the way it mixes the academy environment with elemental royalty and powerful magical lineages.
That’s when we meet Fannar, the Ice Prince, and from the very beginning the tension between him and Helena is impossible to ignore. Fannar is cold, powerful, and very arrogant — exactly the kind of character that makes an enemies-to-lovers storyline so entertaining. Since Helena controls fire and Fannar controls ice, their powers naturally clash, and that makes every interaction between them intense. Even when they are trying to push each other away, you can tell there is a deeper connection building between them.
Reading on Kindle kept the story moving at a great pace, and the Audible narration did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life, especially during the scenes where Helena and Fannar’s powers collide. The narrator really captured the attitude and tension between the characters, which made the emotional and dramatic moments even better.
By the end of the book, we start to see hints that Helena may be tied to something much bigger involving prophecy, power, and the future of the elemental kingdoms. The ending definitely leaves you wanting to see what happens next between Helena and Fannar and what role they will play in the larger magical conflict.
I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself ~ you won’t regret it.

AI reading is horrible. There were awkward pauses, monotone voice, and lack of emotions. I usually enjoy my audio books, but this felt more like a chore to listen to. AI is not ready to read stories to people.
