Foreign Investment in Ukrainian Agriculture

On March 2010 Frishberg & Partners held a round table on "Foreign Investment in Ukrainian Agriculture." Speakers included Mr. Jens Bruno, who works with an agricultural holding company "Grain Alliance" in Ukraine that controls roughly 40,000 hectares in an area with a radius of 80 km and are expanding rapidly. The second speaker, Mr. Roman Fedorowycz, is an ex-founder, CEO and land acquisition manager for Ukrainian Agrarian Investments Ltd., one of the largest farming companies in Ukraine and Europe with 300,000 hectares. With nearly 18 years’ experience in Ukraine, Mr. Fedorowycz is arguably one of the foremost foreign experts, who discussed the issues involved in leasing land during the moratorium on agricultural land sales and managing large scale farming.
