Love From Afar!

My goodness, I wish everyone in the Air Force or military would read this series. Ginny Sterling has such a way of accurately describing how someone can collapse and how their broken heart feels when they receive devastating information about the loss of a loved one. She also illustrates the time necessary and baby steps it takes to heal a heart enabling an individual to maintain loyalty to their deceased love one, while still moving forward with their life. Additionally, Ginny’s incredibly true description of how a team feels when one of their aircraft goes down was amazing. Talking from personal experience it was spot on! This beautiful story opens up describing a past and each person‘s ambitions for the future. Following a horrible loss, Ginny opens up a door with a close and dear friend who has compassion, integrity, and love coupled with a desire to enter their life. She touches on many aspects that a child might have questions about. I really loved the characters of Elliot and Sarah. It was obvious from the outset that Elliot really cared about Sarah. If Elliot had had to love from afar, that would have been so difficult over a lifetime. I loved Elliot’s interaction with the children and acknowledging the additional love and support that he would have to give Morgan. He knew that he had to be a father figure. I particularly thought the remedy, for both he and Morgan, when they used a foul word was precious! Elliot personified acceptance, playfulness, and a deep love for the entire family, but most especially for his sweet Sarah! Loved the book cover! Thank you for sharing the ‘Afterword’ with us - it was wonderful to see how your mind works!
