Mayday! Mayday! Prepare to eject…
Sutton ‘Firefly’ Grainger wore a mask over his emotions, pretending to be something he wasn’t – strong and brave. Growing up alone, coping with guilt from his past, and then the death of his friend? It was all too much. The trauma, panic attacks, and mental chaos were more than he could bear silently anymore… but he also wasn’t alone in his fight.

We’ve got a man down…
Melody Greene never thought her husband would come home in a casket. Pregnant, alone, and trying to figure out how to move on? An unexpected letter from Jordan’s fellow airman was just what she needed. Sharing memories, building a friendship, and realizing it was okay to grieve, was helping her so much… until they met.

A single unexpected kiss brought her fragile peace to an abrupt halt, creating so many other problems for the two of them… or was it the start of a second chance at something wonderful?

It was absolutely engrossing to hear the pilot’s reactions as to the loss of Jordan, Mr. Clean. Ginny Sterling’s description left me with a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. When Firefly reached out to Melanie he was in essence, trying to save himself as he was crumbling, although his offer to help her was made thoughtfully and in earnest. Firefly’s therapist pointed out that Melanie‘s answer to his initial letter, unknowingly started his healing. Firefly did not want to overstep as he truly loved Jordan, after all, he was his best friend. The fact that Melanie was Jordan’s wife only made him want to help in whatever capacity she needed. Over time, the ease of their relationship made them both a bit uncomfortable, thinking they were overstepping in their thoughts and feelings. Neither wanted to be called out for being inappropriate or infringing on the other. His kindness and compassion, coupled with her earnestness and appreciation grew so sweetly into a burning love. Ginny Sterling, once again, wrote a touching and epic love story. As Ginny warned, make sure you have tissues handy!
