Several Tampa media personalities were known for their “hit pieces” about public figures. Now they’re known for being murdered, and anyone they trashed could be a suspect. Detectives Carly Sanderson and Sergio Martin, co-workers and secret lovers, are assigned to hunt for a deranged killer together, but separately: Carly must operate from headquarters to show her oversight skills. Sergio is in the field, but is saddled with a beautiful and headstrong young image consultant who’s been tasked with fixing the department’s profile.

When the killer livestreams his intentions to widen his pool of victims, public pressure to find him skyrockets. But internal office politics hamstring the investigation, forcing partners Carly and Sergio to work around the clock and rules to uncover the connections the victims share with their killer.

Ok so I’m seeing a theme! I love this series! I love the character camaraderie. I dislike Davis and have a new found respect for Mellish! This one had me on the edge of my seat and was not expecting the killer to be who it was! It was a great twist. Carly’s mother made me extra mad in this book! Highly recommend!

Book 4 Fourth Estate was kinda a slow burn for me. It is a great storyline, absolutely love Carly and Sergio together, but the suspect part of the story was slower in this book, at least to me. It is still a good read but so far Double Blind is my favorite book.

Carly n Sergio Oh My!

Great addition to this series, tho I had my doubts for just a bit! I actually struggled with my review because of it. I have loved the first 3 books, but early on in this one for me, it was becoming nothing but the Davis & Sergio drama story. Didn't we do this in the last book? It was too much the main focus of the book instead of the actual serial killer thriller story. Then, the ending had a lot of reeming qualities for me, and I do plan to continue the series. Hopefully, Davis won't be making any more appearances!!

I didn't hate it, but it wasn't my favorite!

I liked this one a lot! I liked that it left you wondering who the killer was, unlike the other books where we knew early on and even had scenes from the killer’s perspective. The reason for the crimes seemed like a bit of a stretch, but it was an enjoyable read all the same. The voice acting was wonderful.

Fast paced and entertaining

Tampa Bay has another serial killer. Figuring out who it is leads the listener and a True roller coaster ride. It’s a very compelling listen, that I highly recommend.

Alatorre does it again!
